Bring back nature in France
Given the alarming state of our ecosystems, it is no longer sufficient to protect the nature we have left. We also need to restore nature that has been degraded.
In this episode, Greens/EFA MEP Caroline Roose visits the Côte Bleue Marine Park close to Marseille, France. The Marine Park has been supported and financed by local governments, in partnership with small coastal fisheries, for more than 40 years. It combines different types of restoration measures that have allowed fish to reproduce and grow in healthy habitats such as seagrass meadows. The Marine Park features on the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas for achieving ongoing results for people and nature in a fair and effective way.
